We have finally received all of the money we raised for our Children in Need sponsored walk from Kilchoan primary school to the Ardnamurchan Lighthouse. We have managed to raise a huge £831.00 which is amazing. Thank you to everyone who sponsored us and supported us during the walk. A huge well done to the children for completing the walk and raising so much money. 🙂

We are setting off on our sponsored walk tomorrow, 18th Nov, for Children in Need. We are walking from the school to the lighthouse and if anyone would like to come along and wave us off from the school then we plan to leave at 11am. If you haven’t already sponsored us then please do so at the shop or community centre. Fingers crossed the weather is kind! 🙂

On Thursday 27th October, Tony Bower, an author came to visit us to read us part one of his book called ‘The Library’ which was set in Iona. Mr Bower was here on holiday and decided to drop in and see us because he comes to Kilchoan a lot. Mr Bower read us the first part with lots of expression and he was very dramatic; he made us all jump. It was about a little boy and what his father told him to do on his first raid as they were vikings. We won’t tell you anymore to spoil it because you should go and buy the book! Mr Bower very kindly gave us a copy of his book, which he signed, and we are very excited about reading the rest. It was really interesting and the book was amazing, we enjoyed learning more about Iona and the vikings. We would like him to come back again and tell us more about the book.

A huge welcome to our Primary one!

He has graduated from Kilchoan Nursery and has already settled in as our newest member at Kilchoan Primary School.

The last day of term finally arrived today, Friday 1st July, and we held our annual picnic at the play park. The children took part in a letter scavenger hunt and enjoyed their lunch; luckily the weather held out for us. The children ended the day by showing us some of their dance moves and a rendition of ‘Schools out’! We had such a lovely day and it was a great way to welcome the summer holidays.

Today was also our P7’s last day of Primary school and all the children presented her with handmade cards. We wish Cheryl all the best for the future and we hope she enjoys her time at Ardnamurchan High School.

We will miss you!

The pupils at Kilchoan Primary and Nursery travelled yesterday, Thursday 30th Jun, to Acharacle for a fun day. The children had an amazing time and took part in lots of different activities, such as disco dome, art, boat challenge and marshmallow toasting in the woods. We would like to thank everyone at Acharacle for inviting us and looking after us. The children made lots of friends and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

We would also like to thank Sheil buses and Martin who have been fantastic this week and transported the Kilchoan children around Ardnamurchan for free. This is much appreciated.
