The pupils at Kilchoan Primary and Nursery travelled yesterday, Thursday 30th Jun, to Acharacle for a fun day. The children had an amazing time and took part in lots of different activities, such as disco dome, art, boat challenge and marshmallow toasting in the woods. We would like to thank everyone at Acharacle for inviting us and looking after us. The children made lots of friends and thoroughly enjoyed the day.

We would also like to thank Sheil buses and Martin who have been fantastic this week and transported the Kilchoan children around Ardnamurchan for free. This is much appreciated.

We went on the bus to Acharacle Primary School on Thursday 28th Apr for Zoo Lab, we had to get up really early because we had to meet the bus at our school for 7:45am! It was snowing heavily and it was lying so there was 2 or 3 inches on the ground. The bus journey was exciting, we were singing our songs for the MOD on the way and some of us tried to sleep but we couldn’t close the curtains. When we arrived, Mrs Bradley was putting grit on the walkway so we wouldn’t slip. Mrs Patterson took the P4-7 into her class and Mrs Cameron took the P1-3 into her class. The P1-3 had their session with Zoo Lab first and we were doing work. We had to do 47 laps around their gym hall walking or jogging to equal a mile. It was fun but tiring and some of us got stitches! We then had playtime, we had to put waterproof trousers on and we all went outside in the snow. We went sliding down one of the hills like a penguin, our hands were freezing but it was enjoyable. We would all like to say a massive thank you to Ms McLuckie for her 13 years at Kilchoan Primary School. We hope you enjoy your retirement and wish you all the best for the future.

We will miss you!

We all painted hard boiled eggs, it was very hard and messy, we had to be careful that they didn’t fall on the floor. When we went into school this morning we found out that the eggs we painted were going to be used for an Easter egg hunt. We all got ready and headed to the playpark. When we arrived we all ran through the gate and the hunt began. Some of us found our eggs more easily than others. Sarah was very cheeky because she had hidden the eggs high up and low down, and in places we didn’t think to look. However in the end we all found them and when we got back to school we traded them for a cream egg. It was a lot of fun and it was a good activity to do on the last day of term.

We held our annual Daffodil Tea on Wednesday 23rd March in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care. We managed to raise a huge £195, so thank you to everyone who came along and donated generously. We hope you all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the delicious cakes which were kindly brought in. We hope to see you all at our daffodil tea next year.

A massive thank you to everyone that came to our Christmas Show, ‘Christmas Stars’, on Friday night.

The children’s performance was absolutely incredible and they get better every year. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. Thank you all for your kind donations and for your lovely baking. We raised £280 for Highland Hospice, Cancer Research UK and the School Fund.

Thanks again and we hope to see you all at next years show!
